From the AAMT CEO Dear Members & Colleagues,
It should please you to hear that I’ll be sleeping rough this winter at the 2012 Vinnies CEO Sleepout! In capital cities across Australia on Thursday 21 June, I and other business leaders will brave the elements and experience homelessness first hand, for a night, to help raise money and awareness of homeless people. The issue of massage being provided for the homeless was raised by Alys Cavanaugh of HEAL at the 2011 AAMT Conference and AAMT continues to support this through profile where we can. Money raised through sponsoring will directly assist Vinnies to provide relief to the homeless through crisis accommodation, domestic violence support and access to budget counselling, cooking skills and legal advice; educating people on making better choices in life. For over 105,000 men, women and children who sleep out across Australia each night, this is no light matter. With our help, Vinnies can turn the tide and give people the opportunities they need to rebuild their lives. Your donation can contribute to providing bedding, a meal and a fresh change of clothes for a homeless person for a night. Donations are tax deductible. Remember: the more money we raise, the more we can directly assist in helping the homeless. For more information or to sponsor me, please visit www.ceosleepout.org.au. Thank you Tricia Hughes Chief Executive Officer AAMT |
