Thomas Myers Anatomy Trains Workshops - March 2011

Those that pre registered their interest in this rare opportunitiy have now had their time to preferentially register for these courses.  We are now opening the registration to all STT members.  Registrations will not be available to none STT members for a brief time.  This will give you the opportunity to confirm your place and avoid disappointment when the classes are sold out.  The registration form is here.

Please note that you must complete one of the Anatomy Trains courses before entering the master classes.  Thomas Myers is adament that this is necessary.  If you have completed an Anatomy Trains course prior to this workshop, please submit the certificate of attendance to the workshop you attended.

Pelvic Fascial Treatment

Saturday 14 August and Sunday 15 August

This comprehensive workshop delivers a structured approach to assessment and treatment of the Pelvic region.  The workshop is relevant and applicable to all Soft Tissue Therapists, Remedial Massage Therapists and Myotherapists, regardless of experience.

 

Day 1 – Fundamentals of Pelvic Assessment and Treatment

Course participants will learn to identify dysfunction of the Pelvic, Hip and Sacral complexes.  Treatments will focus on the:

1.    Extrinsic Pelvic, Hip and Sacral musculature, myofascia and fascia

2.    Intrinsic Pelvic, Hip and Lumbar Spine musculature and myofascia

 

Day 2 – Advanced Pelvic Assessment and Treatment

Delivers a more advanced level of assessment and treatment which delves into the functional relationship of the pelvic fascia to the pelvis, abdomen, spine, hip and respiratory system.  The major focus for day two is on identification of the intrinsic Pelvic fascia, musculature and myofascia and ways to determine when it is a necessary area for treatment.

 

Course participants will be treated to Andrews’ Real Time Ultrasounds which identify how Soft Tissue Therapy can affect change in deeper Pelvic and Abdominal structures.

 

 

Participants in this course will learn how to assess and treat the pelvic fascia in context with:

·         Core stability

·         Breathing

·         Pelvic Floor function

·         Upper and lower limb dysfunction

·         Sacro- Illiac joint pain and dysfunction

·         Spinal function

 

Andrew studied at the Canberra Institute of Technology, before establishing his private practice in Goulburn in 2001.  He has also worked at the Australian Institute of Sport and travelled with the AIS Swimming and the Australian Rowing Teams.

 

In 2006/2007 he studied to be a Pilates Instructor, which he integrates into his Soft Tissue Therapy.

 

Andrew has presented at three Soft Tissue Therapy Conferences and the Sports Medicine Australia ACT Branch Conference in 2009.  He has also published several articles for the Soft Tissue Therapy E-Mag and is a teacher at the Goulburn TAFE.
